Chicago

Three days with a 4-hour flight each way to Chicago. I had thought it was just going to be a rushed trip, but Randall ended up making the most of it: watching “Thomas” videos on the plane and at the restaurant, going to Millennium Park and visiting the Aquarium… This guy had so much fun that he kept saying he wanted to go to Chicago again.

Tennessee Valley

What did the sea say to the sand? Nothing. It just waved.

DSC00571Randall went on his first hiking trip in Tennessee Valley together with his best buds. “Going to the beach for a picnic”, an expression from one of his favorite books now came true. It turned out to be such a wonderful experience that he kept saying he would like to go back again. He also appeared to remember every detail about it. “The sea hit me, and I slipped and then fell down on my bottom,” recalled Randall later that night. He smiled when he said the word “hiking” to himself.

I turned 3!

One day before his birthday, Randall was told that he was going to turn three the next day when he woke up. Then when it came to his birthday, he said “I’m turning 4!”. Not bad counting, though.

This year we joined Randall’s classmate Sophia in hosting a group birthday party at AcroSports in San Francisco and almost all his classmates attended the party. Randall enjoyed it from the beginning to the end. He was so busy playing that he hardly ate his own birthday cake. And there was more. After the party, some of the kids continued their fun at a playground in Golden Gate Park. It was the first day of daylight savings this year and everybody enjoyed the beautiful warm weather and an extra hour of daylight.

Where is Randall?

“It’s you, mummy!” Randall was so excited about discovering this photo of mummy from daddy’s wallet. But only after a few seconds something occurred to him, as he asked puzzled, “Where is Randall?”
