It was Chinese New Year’s Eve but daddy had to fly to Chicago for a job interview. We couldn’t have a fancy dinner together, so mum took me to “16 Handles” as a new year treat, where I had a large cup of ice-cream. Put in that beautiful mood, I sang “open shut them” all the way home.
