Little People

Ran Ran has recently regained interest in this toy, which he first started to play with at 13 months. He can now reach the top and place the car right there. This afternoon he picked up the car at first, then suddenly turned around and ran off to the living room. Just as I was wondering what had occurred to him, he turned on the air conditioning and came back with a satisfactory smile. Then he only played for a minute before going back to the living room again. And this time, it was for the camera. He asked me to take the camera from the desk and shoot videos.

Crossing arms

Ran Ran didn’t like the sand pit very much. He stood there, crossed his arms and fell into deep though just like daddy. Which place might be more fun? The swing, he figured.

An Important Day

One day to year and a half birthday and first day of school, the very first one! To mark this important day, I put the school t-shirt on him and took these photos of him in the park.

And some videos. Randall can take half of the credit for the drinking video, for he actually asked me to pick up the camera while he was posing like a movie star.

Protest Against Water

Ran Ran had never agreed to take plain water so we had always had to make his “secret” mix as a way to avoid trouble for ourselves. That had worked perfectly fine until last week when we were told that he wouldn’t be offered fruit juice at daycare. Time for a change, or to be more accurate, a challenge. We knew it would be very hard, but what we didn’t know was how long it was gonna take.

We thought of all possible ways to make him drink water, but he only went from totally resisting it and constantly asking me to go back into the kitchen to get the “right” drink for him, to taking a sip and dropping the bottle right away. On the evening of day 3, daddy and I started talking about plan B. But all of a sudden it happened, like the stories we’ve been told, that one’s dreams come true when he is just about to give up. Right after breakfast of the fourth day, he picked up the bottle himself and drank from it. And at the end of the day he finished three whole bottles, well, certainly not as much as he used to drink, but good enough!
