Disneyland

The thing that had driven him crazy 9 months ago now became his favorite – the Mad Tea Party. We ended up taking this ride 4 times out of three days of our visit. We managed to take almost all the rides Randall would qualify, including It’s a Small World, Dumbo the Elephant, Jingle Cruise, Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, Storybook Land Canal Boats, Casey Jr. Circus Train, etc. Randall loved seeing the “animals” from the Jingle Cruise, so we took it twice, along with some other favored rides. Finding Nemo was dark, but Randall turned out to be fascinated by the endless stretch of coral reefs and the various sea animals.

Randall was a big fan of the Main Street bus rides. We rode on all kinds of those vehicles including a double decker and a horse wagon. We ran into two parades in the park, one featuring a huge Christmas tree and the other showing a beautifully lit castle from Frozen. Randall had had a great time and had also given us an easy time. “Goldfish” and some fun toys were all he needed to wait in line without asking to be held at all throughout the trip.

Toon Town was a big hit. Randall climbed onto the trolley and into those fancy cars time after time, talking to himself and pretending to be the trolley driver. Goofy’s Playhouse was another favorite of Randall’s. Sliding down the slide, climbing on the big pumpkin, running in and out of the house didn’t seem to tire him out. On our last night at the hotel, Randall saw fireworks, for the first time in life.
